Three choirs to perform to provide warm clothing for children

The Ford Motor Company Chorus, the Belleville Community Chorus, and Trinity Episcopal Church Choir are teaming up to hold a benefit concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11575 Belleville Road, Belleville, just South of I-94.
All proceeds will benefit Adopt-a-Child Size and Support Services, a non-profit organization which for over 30 years has been providing warm clothes to children in local communities.
The concert will feature both sacred and secular songs from a variety of genres (pop, classical, musicals, etc.). It will last about an hour, followed by refreshments. Suggested donation for the concert is $10.
Since its beginning in 1986, Adopt-a-Child Size has served over 15,000 Michigan children and their families in western Wayne and eastern Washtenaw counties, providing much-needed winter clothing, coats, and boots.
Without the project’s assistance, most of these children would have suffered through the cold Michigan winter without the warmth provided by the necessary items.
In addition, all children have received at least one book, and some have received an educational toy. Adopt-a-Child Size has no paid staff. It is run solely by volunteers who have donated thousands of hours to ensure the project’s ongoing success.
The Ford Chorus is a recreational, community chorus whose members are Ford employees, family, and friends. Directed by Dr. Jonathan Drake and accompanied by Daphne Mitchell, the Ford Chorus performs at several events throughout the year, including Race for the Cure in Detroit, the March of Dimes Walk for Babies, Operation Good Cheer, Dearborn Heights Spirit Fest, and a number of Ford-sponsored events.
The Belleville Community Chorus is made up of singers from Belleville, from age 18 to 80+. Directed by Susan Hiser, with Kevin Shay as accompanist and Steve Choongwooko as associate director / accompanist, the chorus performs both sacred and secular music several times each year in the Belleville area.
The Trinity Episcopal Church choir is directed by Jenifer Dapsi-Morse, who also teaches choir at McBride Middle School in Belleville.
