MDOT sets open house April 2 on proposed CAV corridor on I-94

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host a public open house from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, on the proposed connected and automated vehicle (CAV) corridor project on I-94 in Wayne and Washtenaw counties.
This public open house will offer surrounding communities the opportunity to discuss the future of the pilot with MDOT and its private partner, Cavnue.
MDOT invites interested residents and commuters and community leaders to meet with MDOT, Cavnue, and consultant staff members.
The meeting will be held at Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave., Dearborn in the Community Room.

The proposed CAV corridor project is a partnership between MDOT and Cavnue. The proposed project envisions repurposing an existing travel lane into a technology-enabled express lane along each direction of I-94 between Ann Arbor and Detroit and will accommodate a mix of traditional personal vehicles, CAVs, transit, and shared mobility services.
The proposed project will involve installing technology to enhance safety and efficiency for all users of the corridor. As part of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, MDOT is undertaking an Environmental Assessment to identify potential project impacts.
