Belleville woman accused in stabbling sent to Circuit Court May 29

Sealisa Marie Jones, 43, of Belleville waived her right to a preliminary exam at 34th District Court on May 15 and was bound over to circuit court on the information on the complaint and warrant.
Judge David Parrott ordered her to appear at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit at 9 a.m. May 29.
Jones is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) and Domestic Violence – Aggravated.
Belleville Police said Jones stabbed her husband in the chest at about 10:30 p.m. April 11 at their home at 308 Oxford Court in Victoria Commons following an argument over finances.
Her preliminary exam had been set for April 24, but at that session her attorney Todd Perkins said he had just received the discovery information that day and asked for an adjournment because he needed time to study it. Judge Parrott granted his request.
After the April 11 stabbing, the 53-year-old husband was transported to the hospital and the wife taken into custody. She paid her $5,000/10% bond and was released.
On May 15, attorney Perkins said the husband, who was the victim, wanted to modify the bond from “no contact,” to “no assault contact” and the judge agreed.
The three Belleville police officers handing the case were Cpl. Todd Schrecengost and Officers Joshua Wolfe and Jonathon Heimstra. The three officers were all in the courtroom on April 24 and again on May 15.
