The May 27 preliminary exam in 34th District Court for Terrance Antwan Carlton, accused of armed robbery in Van Buren Township, was adjourned until 9 a.m., June 10, so that Carlton and his co-defendant can link up court dates.
On May 27, Judge Bryan Oakley agreed to reschedule Carlton’s exam. Carlton’s bond of $10,000/10% had been posted and it was continued.
Carlton, 28, is charged with armed robbery, larceny from the person, and assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) in Van Buren Township on Feb. 1, 2014.
Co-defendant Christopher Michael Miller, 30, has the same charges.
The plan is for them to be in court together on June 10 said Carlton’s retained attorney Joseph Wagner.
Ernest Leon Trammell
Ernest Leon Trammell, 26, who was present for a probable cause hearing, asked to have his hearing delayed until he could retain an attorney, instead of using the court-appointed attorney.
Judge Oakley gave him three weeks, until 9 a.m. on June 17, when he will be due back in 34th District Court.
Trammell is charged with weapons / firearms possessed by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault), felony firearm, and domestic violence. He is considered a habitual offender.
He was arrested for an incident on May 7 in Sumpter Township. His bond of $3,000 or 10% has been posted.
