Sumpter Police send alert on auto thefts in 49000 block of Willis

Over two days last week, two vehicles were stolen from separate driveways in the 49000 block of Willis Road overnight.
Sumpter Police sent out an alert on Friday: “We have evidence that both incidents are connected to criminal elements residing in or visiting the manufactured home communiuty near the locations where the thefts occurred. The investigations are ongoing, and extra police patrols will be conducted in the area.”
Police warned residents to always lock their vehicles, take the keys out, and report all suspicious activity to Sumpter dispatch at (734) 461-6898.
