The prize-winning entries of more than 30 in Saturday’s 40th-Annual Sumpter Country Fest Parade were announced at the pavilion after the parade.
Children’s Group:
• 1st place – Rollers Skate Park, with patriotic roller skaters and a rousing song of “This Land is Your Land…”
• 2nd place – Sumpter Royalty
• 3rd place – St. Anthony Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts
Community Organization:
• 1st place – Friends of Michigan Animal Rescue
• 2nd place – VFW 4344 / PLAV 1697
Float:
• 1st place — Boughan’s Haunted Hayride of Fright
• 2nd place – River of Life Church
• 3rd place – Southwestern Wayne Democratic Club
Antique Vehicle:
• 1st place — Andrew Nagy with his 1939 Allis Chalmers tractor, the 20,000th built that year, and one of few left
• 2nd place – Jim Posegay and his 1958 white Chevrolet Impala, which has won many prizes over the years
Equine/Horse Drawn Vehicle:
• 1st place – Dogs & Suds
Specialty Group:
• 1st place – Greco Choi Kwang Do Demo Team
• 2nd place – P&P Dance Center
• 3rd place – Lower Huron Metro Park
The judges of this year’s parade were Jade Jones and Spenser Feld.
