The 2014 Sumpter Country Fest Cutest Baby Boy and Girl were announced on Memorial Day, May 25.
Cutest Boy:
• First place – Morgan Duncan, age 2, son of Matt and Tracy Duncan;
• Second-place — Jaxson Williams, age 1-1/2, son of Brittney Walker;
• Third place — Corbyn Korte, age 22 months, son of Chasity and Steve Korte.
Cutest Girl:
• First place – Blakely Cates, age 2, daughter of Doyle and Crystal Kates;
• Second place — Jasmine Larr, age 7 months, daughter of Heather Granger;
• Third place — Katelyn Hunter, age 5 months, daughter of Dawn and Dan Hunter.
Other entries in the contest include: Kylie Tatum, Aviana Howell, Aubrey Hatfield, Alexis Fleming, Alexandra Williams, Brynlea Orrison, Abigail Haddad, Abigail Boggess, Kelcie Kapanowski, Abby Liberty, Olivia Melidosian, Maddie Melidosian, Addisyn Roberts, Alina Harrington, JhyAir Willis, Peyton Smith, Anthony Jackson, and Noah Murphy.
Virginia Belinski, who chaired the contest this year said, “On behalf of the Sumpter Township Parks and Recreation Commission, I would like to thank our sponsor, John Hennessey of Hennessey Engineers, Inc., Southgate.
“The contest was a great success with 24 entries. Every baby in the contest was beautiful. They all were winners.
“I would like to thank everyone who entered a child in the contest, everyone who supported the child of their choice, and those who visited our display this weekend. I would also like to thank Jim and Joanne Posegay, Alan Bates and others who helped make this contest a success.
“The proceeds from the contest will be used to support child-related events put on by the Sumpter Parks and Recreation Commission,” Belinski said.
