Westland teen charged with murder, home invasion in stabbing of Belleville man

A 17-year-old Westland teen has been charged with murder and home invasion in the stabbing death of Matthew Green, 33, of Belleville.
Dion Marquis Patterson is accused of entering a home in the 35800 block of Thames Street in Westland at about 2:18 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Officer, the two got into a physical altercation and Patterson used an object to stab Green, who died at Annapolis Hospital as a result of the injuries.
Patterson is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and home invasion. He has been arraigned on the charges at 18th District Court in Westland and is being held without bail at the Wayne County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for May 28.
The argument that led to the stabbing was between neighbors over loud music, Westland Police said. Green was reportedly stabbed in multiple places, including his chest.
