The Van Buren Township Board of Trustees held a special work/study session at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, so it could vote to go into closed-door session.
The closed-door meeting, that lasted two hours, was called to discuss an attorney’s written communication concerning Visteon.
Clerk Leon Wright had added a Public Comment agenda item on the agenda, before the Unfinished Business part and reportedly had alerted the board about this a week in advance.
At the Jan. 26 meeting, before going into Closed Session, the board discussed and agreed upon having Public Comment on both agenda and non-agenda items in a different part of the agenda, after New Business.
John Delaney commented from the audience that he was in favor of this change, although in the past Supervisor Linda Combs had always let Delaney comment at length at the end and during the middle of work/study sessions.
