Ten Van Buren Township employees earn service awards

Nine Van Buren Township Public Safety Department employees, plus one water worker, were slated to receive service awards at the June 4 meeting of the VBT Board of Trustees, but only four were present in person to be honored.
Those present were:
• Police Lieutenant Ernie Thornsbury, 30 years of service;
• Police Officer Michael Long, 10 years;
• Fire Fighter Curtis Lunsford, 10 years;
• Fire Fighter Louis Keele, 5 years.
Others slated to be honored were:
• Water Worker III Jeffrey Osborne, 25 years;
• Fire Fighter Kenneth Landstrom, 10 years;
• Dispatcher Gretchen Lucas, 10 years;
• Fire Fighter Michael Moening, 5 years;
• Police Officer Joseph Smith, 5 years;
• Police Officer Jeffrey Stanton, 5 years.
Fire Fighters Keele and Moening also are VBT police officers.
