At the March 15 meeting of the Van Buren Public Schools Board of Education Curriculum Director Jeff Moore announced March was School Music Month and presented certificates to ten students for efforts in music over the last year.
Receiving awards were:
Taylor Duncan and Gabriella Massel of McBride Middle School; Laura Montgomery, Luke Branim, and Shani Lewis of Owen Intermediate School; Carlynn Gasser and Autumn Parent of Belleville High School; Artrail Green of Tyler Elementary School; D’Andre Wesley-Boone of Rawsonville Elementary School; and James Vasquez of Edgemont Elementary School.
The Owen music teacher also directed a chorus of 11 students who sang for the board and the packed crowd in the Belleville High School mini-auditorium.
