On Feb. 16, after its second closed-door session on the issue, the Sumpter Township Board of Trustees voted to approve the recommendation of Police Chief Eric Luke to fire Officer Danielle Buccellato.
No details on the decision were available.
In 2017, Chief Luke honored Officer Buccellato with a Chief’s Recognition for her part in the successful investigation and subsequent convictions of those involved in a fraud case against Fox Auto Parts on Jan. 29, 2016.
She has been with the department since at least 2010.
