Patrick Lloyd Sircey, 39, of Wilmot Street in Sumpter Township was bound over to Circuit Court on Feb. 11 by 34th District Court Judge Brian Oakley.
Sircey waived his preliminary exam after a pre-exam conference, said Sumpter Township Detective John Toth.
Sircey is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the third degree, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
The crime occurred on Dec. 27 and is a crime against an adult female, Det. Toth said, not getting into the details.
Sircey was arrested Feb. 5 and held on $50,000 bond. Judge Oakley reduced the bond to $10,000 or 10%, as requested by Sircey’s lawyer. The prosecution did not object.
Sircey was due to be arraigned on the evidence at Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit on Feb. 18.
