Steven Sherman graduated from Belleville High School in 2007 and since has earned three degrees at the University of Michigan, in Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, and Entrepreneurship.
Sherman currently is serving as Director of Energy Resource Strategy and Special Projects for the Our Next Energy (ONE) business. ONE’s technology is known as LFP, which stands for lithium, iron (Fe), and phosphate.
The battery manufacturing facility for battery cells and energy storage applications is being set up on Ecorse Road, just west of Haggerty Road, in the Ashley Crossroads Center in Van Buren Township.
Shazad Butt, COO of Our Next Energy, said they are the only independent battery facility in North America today. He said the prototype they will be manufacturing in the building will drive the industry.
