Jackie Davis of State Farm Insurance is asking the public to vote for Belleville High School every day through Oct. 24 as part of a national safe driving promotion that could win a cash prize for the school.
Davis appeared at a BHS assembly and also told of the promotion at Monday’s school board meeting.
She asked everyone 14 and older to write to www.celebratemydrive.com every day from Oct. 15 through Oct. 24 and vote for BHS from each email account that person has.
“The more safe driving commitments our community makes, the better its chance to win a $100,000 grant and a private concert by The Band Perry,” Davis said, noting texting while driving is particularly dangerous.
“Learning to drive is a big step in life. State Farm and Belleville High School recognize getting a driver’s license is an important and joyous time,” Davis said. “Celebrate My Drive celebrates this milestone with new drivers by encouraging them to make positive choices like driving 2N2®: 2 eyes on the road and 2 hands on the wheel.”
