The 68th-annual Wayne County Fair will be held Aug. 4-9 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds on Quirk Road, north of I-94, featuring activities for adults and children.
The popular Miracle of Life exhibit runs from 2 to 10 p.m. daily in the Cozadd Building, showing animals being born.
Monday, Aug. 4
Swine, horse and sheep shows for the 4-H Clubs will be held on Monday, Aug. 4.
Tuesday, Aug. 5
The carnival opens from 1 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, with riders paying $1 a ride. Also on Tuesday are the poultry, horse and goat shows, along with the mini horse pull at 7 p.m. Crafters and vendors will be open 2-10 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 6
Wednesday, Aug. 6, is Senior Day-10 a.m. breakfast in the dining hall. The Rabbit/Cavy/PocketPet show begins at 8 a.m. in the Cozadd Building. The Fruit Pie bake off is at 2 p.m. and the Senior Citizen basket raffle at 4 p.m. The carnival runs from 4 to 10 p.m., $10.
Dinner is from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with $1 off the price for Senior Citizens. The Dairy Show is at 6 p.m. and Beef Show at 7 p.m.
The Enduro Derby/Figure 8 Off-Road show begins at 7 p.m., with cost of $10. Local participants are welcome.
Thursday, Aug. 7
Thursday, Aug. 7, is Kids’ Day, which includes breakfast, goat milking, horse show, lunch, jousting practice at noon, coloring contest, games, and pedal tractors. Carnival is $8 for 2 p.m. until close and $16 after 6 p.m.
The annual livestock auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and the SJO Super Cross Championship Series is at 7 p.m., $10. Super Cross sign up is at 3 p.m. and practice at 5 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 8
Friday is Veterans Day with Jousting Competition at noon and wood carving shows throughout the day. Following breakfast, 7-10 a.m., is the pig trail at 8 a.m., horse show at 9 a.m., shepherd’s trail at 10 a.m. and goat pack class at 11 a.m.
Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the carnival running 1-10 p.m., cost $16.
The Master Stockman Workshop is at 1 p.m. and crafters and vendors 1-10 p.m.
Dinner is 4:30-7 p.m. with $1 off the price for veterans. The Unique Motor Sports’ Night of Destruction starts at 7 p.m., cost $10.
Saturday, Aug. 9
There’s a car show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., following breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. The Master Stockman Contest starts at 10 a.m. and lunch is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Jousting competition is at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. The carnival runs from 1 to 10 p.m., $16. Crafters and vendors are on hand 1-10 p.m. and the Wood Carving Shows are at various times.
Livestock awards are at 3 p.m.; youth awards, 4 p.m.; steak dinner, 4-8 p.m. at $12 each; equine awards, 5 p.m.
Unique Motor Sports presents the Mud Bog at 5 p.m., for $10.
