The non-functioning, 30-year-old clock at the Fourth Street Square on Main Street in Belleville was replaced with a brand-new clock at 3:37 p.m. on July 17 and has shown the right time ever since.
The $26,000 clock was purchased by the Belleville Downtown Development Authority with a “sizeable” donation from Craig Atchinson at Atchinson Ford, said acting city manager/DDA director Steve Jones.
