National Library Week is April 8-14, and the Belleville Area District Library has several events and programs scheduled in celebration.
• Bookbinding Class: All Ages 8 & up
Wednesday, April 11, 7 p.m.
Learn about how books are made, and make your own blank book using a Japanese stab binding technique. All materials are provided. Please call or stop by the library to register for this class!
• Homegrown Knowledge: History of the Library
Thursday, April 12, 7 pm
Various guest speakers describe the history of our library, through all its incarnations. Bring your own stories and pictures from the library’s past to share! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Refreshments provided.
• New Library Groundbreaking Ceremony
Saturday, April 14, 11 am
Speeches, refreshments, and prizes for kids will accompany the ceremonial breaking of ground on the new library building. This is a family-friendly event.
