The Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport was given a $50,000 Capital Improvements grant by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
The museum also was awarded $20,000 for Operational Support.
A total of $9,644,493 was given to 555 groups in the state of Michigan for the 2017 fiscal year. The Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs is made up of up to 15 members appointed by the Governor and is within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Its goal is: To encourage, initiate and facilitate an enriched artistic, cultural and creative environment in Michigan.
