On Friday morning, Dec. 11, McBride Middle School in Van Buren Township was evacuated after a report was called in that there was a bomb in the building.
Van Buren Township Police Lt. Charles Bazzy said police called in a bomb-sniffing K-9 and searched the building. The bomb report was unfounded, he said. Students were allowed back into the building around noon.
Clickondetroit.com showed an aerial picture of the activity around the school.
An earlier Nixle alert from VBT police advised parents to come up pick up their children at the east side of the building, but that was incorrect and the school day continued.
