Michigan’s professional organization of school athletic directors, the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA), has selected Chris Westfall, athletic director of Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, as the Region Six Athletic Director of the Year for his outstanding service in the world of youth athletics.
Westfall has been the athletic director at Lincoln for five years where he also holds the position of head football coach. Along with being a member of the MIAAA, Westfall is an active member of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association. Lincoln High School is a member of the Southeast Conference (SEC) and Chris holds the positon of league president.
Fellow SEC athletic director John Roberts has this to say about Westfall: “Chris does an outstanding job leading our 12-school conference through our monthly meetings and taking the lead on many issues that arise. He has done all of this while maintaining his role as the head football coach at Lincoln.”
Nicole Holden, principal at Lincoln High School, offers the following support: “Mr. Westfall is a supportive and encouraging mentor for students and coaches. He is always willing to discuss ideas and concerns. He maintains strong relationships within the athletic community and advocates with skill for the SEC and Lincoln Consolidated Schools. Chris has been a pioneer for Lincoln’s efforts to redefine our athletic department.”
