Sumpter Township has made tremendous progress during the past four years and is regarded by most as the emerging “gem” of the tri-community area. Sumpter Township is, indeed, the place where you’ll find “Country Living at its Finest” and where government works the way it’s suppose to: Of the People, For the People and By the People.
In the area of public safety, our police and fire departments are among the tops in the state, if not the nation. Our fire department conducts on-going training thereby learning all the time new and innovative ways of doing their jobs with more efficiency, so as to keep up to date with state-mandated changes in their operation.
In addition to ongoing training, our police department is also creative in improving their job performance. Our department was the first in the area to employ chest cameras which dramatically reduces the claims of police misconduct. Our officers are meticulously selected and are held to very high performance standards. They are given the necessary training to carry out all their assignments with the highest order of efficiency and professionalism. Sumpter Township was the first area community to install sirens throughout the entire 37.6 square miles of our Township. These sirens could prove to be life-saving in case of a catastrophic weather event.
Sumpter Township has a very active Senior Program and Community Center to provide needed activities for our residents.
The men and women who make up the John W. Morgan Team are dedicated public servants who have a history of commitment to public service. They are men and women of impeccable moral character and integrity, providing the leadership, experience and trust residents need. These are honest men and women, who given the chance, will continue to move this Township forward, TOGETHER!
We are asking all residents of Sumpter Township who support a team that works harmoniously together, without the infighting and bickering that characterizes some municipalities, to come out Aug. 2 and vote for the entire John W. Morgan Team!
