Rawsonville Elementary School teacher Jason Wesley was selected as Teacher of the Year for Van Buren Public Schools for the 2015-2016 School Year. The award was announced by Interim Superintendent Diane Kullis.
He was nominated by Rawsonville Principal Delria Crippen, who wrote: “It is with total confidence and great pride that I recommend Mr. Jason Wesley for District Teacher of the Year. Mr. Wesley is a problem-solver, an innovator, and a dynamic member of our Intervention team. He increased his student’s reading scores by 100% in January. His enthusiasm, love, and passion for teaching have hardly a rival on our staff … and we have an incredible faculty.
“Mr. Wesley does not work or serve for awards or accolades, but simply to inspire and impact all those he comes in contact with each day. He has mastered the elusive art of being firm but fair, having rules yet maintaining relationships, and keenly remembering that though he teaches numerous content/subject areas … he is really teaching ‘children’ whom he freely offers love, acceptance, and guidance.”
