George and Irene Roberts, longtime residents of Belleville and now of Shepherd, MI, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 17 at the Belleville Church of God.
A luncheon was prepared by granddaughter Tammy Rice and a slide show was created by great-granddaughter Ryanne (Ron) Rice and played during the luncheon.
Tammy Rice blessed the food and the beautiful day. Attending were daughter Linda Price and her husband Steve, son Jerry Roberts and his wife Linda, and son Gary Roberts, who flew in from Arizona. Another son, Doug, was unable to attend due to illness.
All the grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended, with one granddaughter and her son visiting from Las Vegas to share in the day. Many family and friends were present.
To finish the day, George and Irene cut the cake and opened many cards and gifts, including a beautiful wedding plate that everyone signed.
