Genysis Credit Union closes location in downtown Belleville

As of 5 p.m., Nov. 30, the credit union branch location of Genysis Credit Union at the corner of Main and Second streets in downtown Belleville will close permanently.
The current staff for this branch at 186 Main St. will move to the branch at 10444 Belleville Rd. in Van Buren Township, according to the Oct. 14 letter sent to credit union members.
“Our decision to close this location is based on low membership utilization of this branch, as we have seen a large number of members transition their business and transactions to the Genisys branch located at 10444 Belleville Rd. which is just 1.7 miles from the Main Street branch,” according to the letter.
