The Belleville Area District Library will present its ninth-annual Garden Walk, complemented by a Gardener’s Marketplace, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.
“East Side, West Side Gardens” will showcase five gardens in Van Buren Township.
Spanning the township from east to west, these five gardens will showcase a wide spectrum of garden styles. From big gardens to small gardens — some meticulous, some more relaxed.
One garden features perennials that are as big as shrubs. Another has an entrance with a front yard stream and the sound of falling water. Creative containers are used in a small charming garden and many hostas at another location.
Advance tickets are $10 each and available at the Belleville Area District Library, Garden Fantasy Greenhouse & Florist, and the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce until July 11.
On the day of the Garden Walk tickets will be $12 each and available only at the Belleville Area District Library, 167 Fourth Street, Belleville. The addresses of the featured gardens, with maps, will be available at the library on the day of the walk.
The Gardener’s Marketplace begins at 10 a.m. – a full hour before the gardens open at 11 a.m. Vendors will showcase their creative wares on the library grounds before and during the Garden Walk. Tickets to the Garden Walk are not necessary to shop.
All proceeds benefit the Belleville Area District Library. For more information, call (734) 699-3291 or visit www.belleville.lib.mi.us .
