A Family Field Day and 5K run/walk will be held Saturday, July 11 in the Tulip Tree Picnic Area of Lower Huron Metro Park, 17845 Savage Road, Belleville.
Registration for the 5K Fun Run/Walk runs from 8 to 9 a.m., with VFW Post 4434 Honor Guard kicking off the run/walk at 9 a.m. There will be complimentary refreshments, giveaways, and awards.
The Family Field Day starts at 11 a.m. and features softball, bounce house, dunk tank, games and more. The public is invited to bring their picnic baskets and enjoy the park amenities, rain or shine.

The events are to raise money to help DUO (Do Unto Others) tend to the needs of those who have intellectual disabilities or are affected by them in some way.
The Wayne-Westland DUO helps support the Wayne-Westland Special Olympics athletic teams by providing equipment, jerseys and clothing, transportation, food and beverage, and other specified needs.
Individuals and families with special needs from the Belleville area are served by the Wayne-Westland DUO.
Registration is $35 per participant for the walk/run. Participants are also welcome to pay a reduced fee of $15 for the Field Day activities only. All local Special Olympic athletes are invited to attend the day’s activities for only $5.
