Today, June 20, is the Summer Solstice and tomorrow, June 21, the full Strawberry Moon will be in the sky.
Those who are attending the free outside movie at Third and Main, that is a part of Friday’s Lake Fest events, will be able to look up into the sky and see the Strawberry Moon. It should be a night to remember for the families. It is scheduled to start at dusk.
The Superhero Pub Crawl, a block away at the Fourth Street Square, runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Main Street is closed at 5 p.m. to keep everybody safe.
The rest of the Lake Fest events are listed in the full-page advertisement on page 15 of today’s paper.
It includes a full day of activities on Saturday, with live bands all day running almost to midnight, with more activites on Sunday starting around 11 a.m. and done by 5 p.m.
There’s something for everyone, with Pancakes with Princesses on Saturday and a Kids Zone at Third Street both Saturday and Sunday. This is the last time Lake Fest will get to use Scott Jones’ corner lot because he has advised it will be under construction next year. Food trucks are expected to be there Friday through Sunday. The Market on Main down the middle of the street is set for both Saturday and Sunday. One of the fun contests is the Donut Eating Contest for cops at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fourth Street Square.
Summer is here. Let’s have some fun.
