Almost 250 years ago, when the fathers of our country worked together to form a new nation, under God, that the people could run, they didn’t agree on details and they argued.
They were all well-educated and lifelong learners with libraries and constant mental challenges. The documents they came up with were compromises because nobody got everything they wanted.
This was serious business. People lost their lives fighting for freedom and families were torn apart with some remaining devoted to the Crown. They acknowledged we were being made free, if we had the sense to hold onto it.
As we approach another Presidential election, feelings are running high and tempers are hot. People are rude to one another.
Let’s us be kind to one another and hear what others are saying to us. We don’t have to agree. It would be quite boring if we all agreed.
We love our free country and all that we can accomplish here. We love freedom of the press and how newspapers can give new information to their readers about their community.
An informed electorate is necessary to keep a free country. You don’t have to go to every municipal meeting, but you can read our report of what happened. Then, act or don’t act. It’s up to you. But at least you know. And we offer it to you free of charge. Cherish our freedom.
