Deadline extended for HVA Life Saving, Heart Safe award nominations

Do you know someone who has saved a life? How about an organization that has created a heart safe environment? Why not nominate them for an award?
Huron Valley Ambulance is currently seeking nominations for its annual Life Saving and Heart Safe Awards and has extended the deadline to Friday, April 8, at 5 p.m.
The awards will be presented at HVA’s annual EMS Week recognition dinner on Wednesday, May 18, in Ann Arbor. National EMS Week is a time to recognize and honor the dedication of EMS personnel who provide emergency life-saving services to their communities.
The Life Saving Award honors citizens of any age who have saved, or attempted to save, a life under unusual or extraordinary circumstances. The life-saving deed must have occurred in our service area within the 2015 calendar year, and the nominee must not have received an award from another organization.
The Heart Safe Award recognizes businesses and organizations in HVA’s service area that have met the following criteria for creating a heart-safe environment:
• Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in all buildings;
• Staff trained in CPR/AEDs in all buildings; and
• Regularly practiced cardiac emergency response plans.
