Davon Miller, 34, who recently moved out of a home at10573 Belleville Road in Van Buren Township, accepted a plea deal on June 5 before Circuit Court Judge James R. Cylinski at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
In return for Miller’s guilty plea to his first charge of possession of cocaine, the second charge of possession of marihuana would be dismissed.
The settlement offer includes three months in jail on the cocaine charge plus $1,200 in court costs that must be paid before his release.
Miller will return to Judge Chylinski’s courtroom on July 24 for formal sentencing.
The charges stem from Miller’s arrest by Van Buren Township Police on Aug. 23 at his Belleville Road home.
At his arraignment on the information before Judge Chylinski June 5, Miller stood mute and the court entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.
From there Judge Chylinski took Prosecutor Cook and Miller’s attorney Mark Hugger into his chambers for a meeting where the plea agreement was reached.
After Hugger advised Miller of the settlement offer, Miller changed his plea to guilty.
