The report includes Curtis Meadows’ story of how he found Egypt’s body at her home on Hull Road in Van Buren Township on June 23. He said her hands were tied behind her back with a string of Christmas tree lights and she was shot in the back of the head. Her small dog Ruby was the only witness.
Meadows said he was grilled by Van Buren Township police and passed a polygraph. Police say he is not a suspect in the case.
Another man, who VBT police have recently named a person of interest in the murder, was recorded by Crime Watch Daily, saying he didn’t do it and to talk to his attorney. His attorney Dan Geherin said his client has cooperated with police.
In the Crime Watch Daily report, it was stated the man got into a dispute with Egypt a week before her death when they met at the Strawberry Festival in Belleville.
VBT police, who have been investigating the case for almost 10 months, told Crime Watch Daily they are still waiting for “sensitive DNA testing” in the case.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call VBT police at (734) 699-8930.
