Ronald James Davis, 35, waived his preliminary exam on a charge of larceny in a building in Van Buren Township on Aug. 1, 2017.
Monroe District Court Judge Terrence Bronson, who was filling in for 34th District Court Judge Tina Brooks Green on Jan. 16, bound Davis over to Wayne County Circuit Court for a Jan. 23 arraignment on the information.
Davis was brought to the courtroom from the Wayne County Jail where he was lodged on other charges, including several failures to appear at court. His bond for the VBT charge had been set at $2,500 personal recognizance bond. But he was being kept in jail by the other charges.
Joseph F. Dillard is his court-appointed attorney.
A woman in the front row of the audience in the courtroom called out to Davis as he was being led back into the lockup: “I love you.”
