Samuel Raymon Freeman, 30, waived his preliminary examination on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and driving while license suspended in Van Buren Township on April 4.
34th District Court Judge Brian A. Oakley bound him over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information Aug. 17. His bond had been set at $5,000 or 10% but he was in jail on other, similar charges.
Freeman also was arrested July 29, 2015, and April 4 and 17, 2016, as well as May 18, 2016 – all for the same charges. The final pre-trial conference on the consolidated charges was Sept. 9. A jury trial is pending for Dec. 1 before Judge James A. Callahan.
VBT Det. Donovan McCarthy is the officer in charge of the cases. Freeman’s court-appointed attorney is Wyatt Harris.
