Matthew Ryan Durkin and Paul Nathaniel Durkin, 23, both of Pinckney were due to be video-arraigned together while in Sumpter Township police custody in the Huron Township police lockup by Judge Martin on Nov. 21.
But Paul Durkin was taken to Beaumont Trenton Hospital and his video-arraignment was held from his hospital bed. His arraignment attorney Josh Hadley said his client was suffering from mental health issues.
Matthew Durkin was charged with home invasion first degree on Nov. 19 in Sumpter Township. A probable cause conference was set for Nov. 29 and personal bond set at $25,000. He is not return to the place of the offense on Delaware St.
Paul Durkin was charged with home invasion first degree, assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault), and felony firearm-pneumatic gun on Nov. 19 in Sumpter Township.
Bond of $25,000/10% was set for Paul and a probable cause conference for Nov. 29. He is not to purchase or possess firearms and have no contact of any kind with the victims.
The time for Matthew’s probable cause conference was adjusted by Judge Martin to be the same time as the co-defendant, his brother Paul, at 8:30 a.m.
