Dennis Matthew Vieira, 37, of the city of Belleville, waived his preliminary exam on Jan. 15 before 34th District Court Judge David Parrott.
Judge Parrott bound him over to circuit court for a Jan. 29 arraignment on the information. Vieira is charged with operating while intoxicated – 3rd offense and fleeing police in a vehicle, both on Aug. 10 in Sumpter Township.
The retained defense attorney is Daniel Schouman. Vieira’s personal recognizance bond of $10,000 was continued.
Myles Anthony Frederick
Two separate cases against Myles Anthony Frederick, 28, of Detroit were dismissed without prejudice when the complaining witness was not available on Jan 15 in Judge Parrott’s courtroom.
Prosecutor Larry King said the People cannot continue their cases because the complaining witness was not at the court. He said they sent police to her home and she could not be found. The cases were closed.
Frederick had been charged with two separate charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and two domestic violence charges on Dec. 8 in Van Buren Township. Both cases had Officer Michael Long as the officer in charge. Frederick had been out on two personal recognizance bonds of $5,000 each and had worn a GPS tether. The conditional bond was cancelled and the tether was to be taken off.
While he was on bond he was ordered not to contact the victim or enter a certain apartment at 48791 S. I-94 Service Dr.
Retained defense attorney was Brian Brown.
Xylina Amanda Fisher
Xylina Amanda Fisher, 35, of Dearborn who was incarcerated and arrived in jail clothing, was arraigned on charges of possession of methamphetamine/Ecstacy and obstructing police by disguising herself on March 16, 2018 in Sumpter Township.
She was due to be in court on Jan. 2, but the court received a letter from the defendant in the Washtenaw County Jail and a warrant for her arrest was cancelled from LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network).
After she was arraigned and the probable cause conference held before Judge Parrott on Jan. 15, her preliminary exam on the felony charges was set for Jan. 29 before Judge Tina Brooks Green. Her court-appointed attorney Joseph Dillard was not available for the Jan. 22 date set for the exam, so Judge Parrott delayed it a week. Fisher also has a misdemeanor charge pending against her for driving while license suspended.
The Sumpter officer who handled the original case has retired, so the case was reassigned to Sgt. John Toth.

Did you ever think to ask the defendants on what drove them to their offense? Such as the first individual, Dennis, that you just decided to report about an embarrassing time in their life? Did you think to ask him if his daughters were being abused or subjected to sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriends drug-addicted teenage girlfriend? Did you think to ask why the courts, in Michigan being a mother state, took everything away from him even though everything that her entire family owns and has is because of him? Or did you simply run after something easy in order to destroy a man and appear as if you have any type of journalistic experience?
Journalism is receiving both sides and allowing the public to receive the information in order for the individuals reading your column to understand all of the information and decide for themselves. Unfortunately you simply decided to take the easy way out and be lazy. Perhaps this garbage local newspaper that nobody will buy and that’s why it’s free should not exist. You are an embarrassment and really need to take up knitting or something. until you’re willing to get all sides of a story and really do the journalistic digging that is required for the public to make a sound judgment, perhaps you should just sit down and watch daytime television and leave everyone alone.
