Antwon Sherrod Reid, 24, was bound over to circuit court after a preliminary exam held before 34th District Court Judge Brian A. Oakley on Oct. 8.
He was ordered to appear at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit at 9 a.m., Oct. 15, before Judge Deborah A. Thomas for an arraignment on the information.
His $20,000 cash bond was continued, but that bond-out was not possible since he is lodged in the state prison system on other charges.
Reid is charged with home invasion-1st degree and larceny from a building in Van Buren Township on Sept. 9. VBT Police Det. Ken Toney is in charge of the case.
Reid was released from prison on June 21, 2012 after spending two years on a probation violation.
He had pled guilty to assault and battery for original April 30, 2010 charges of: felonious assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.
He originally got a sentence of two-years probation for that plea deal, but then pled guilty to a probation violation of assault and battery on March 28, 2011. There was a failure to appear for sentencing on Oct. 4, 2010. He had a second violation of probation on June 21, 2012.
A warrant for an Aug. 3, 2011 armed robbery was also issued and handled by the 34th District Court.
