A parent of a former Belleville High School football player left a message saying this year’s district title was its fourth in a row since COVID, but wasn’t the first time BHS won districts four times in a row. She said BHS also won 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
According to our files, BHS won district titles in 2018 and 2019, with 2018 touted as its first ever.
BHS Athletic Director Joe Brodie reports that BHS Varsity Football has won seven district titles in a row: 2018-2024.
Our headline in the Nov. 14 paper saying this is the fourth district title in a row wasn’t quite accurate. Sorry for the confusion.
