Belleville High School will open its pool to the community on Friday, Feb. 19. Hours will be 6-8 p.m. with a fee of $5 per swimmer.
Parents swimming and parents of minor swimmers will be required to sign a waiver to enter the water.
Pool manager John Cast said as an FYI for the community, the pool is a “competition” pool and is not a “zero-entry” facility. There are steps and a lift device is available when required.
Cast explained “zero entry.” He said many new recreational pools have an entry that starts at water/deck level and the swimmer walks into deeper water.
Belleville’s pool is foot feet deep at the shallow end, he said.
