Jason Goldman and Bryan Suliman, young Belleville attorneys who opened a law firm in February at 287 Industrial Park Drive, are offering to help victims of a disbarred local attorney – without charge.
Goldman said on Friday that victims can submit paperwork to the State Bar of Michigan Crime Victims Fund and his law firm will help people fill out the application forms with no charge.
He said it is his understanding that each application is reviewed by the Attorney Grievance Committee and victims can get up to 30-35% of their loss reimbursed.
Goldman said he was helping a new client who had money taken by Thomas A. White, the disbarred attorney, and the man stung him by saying, “You sound as sincere as White did when he took my money.”
Goldman said attorneys have a bad reputation and when something like the White incident happens, “It affects all of our reputations.”
For more information, call the Goldman Suliman law firm at 734-699-7360. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or by appointment.
