The Belleville Community Chorus was recognized and honored by the Wayne County Council for Arts History and Humanities (WCCAHH) on Nov. 30 at its annual recognition award ceremony.
The chorus was presented with the prestigious Artist Group Performer Award at a reception and ceremonies at the Wayne County Community College Downriver Campus.
Chorus president Pete Jones, Director Susan Hiser, and many of the chorus members were on hand for the event. Founder of the chorus, Claudia Roullier, gave the history of the group.
This was the 19th year that WCCAHH has honored individuals and groups for contributions in a variety of disciplines related to art, history and humanities.
The public can hear this local award-winning chorus at its upcoming winter concert titled “Home for the Holidays” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Belleville.
