Belleville candidates for mayor, council appear on meet the candidate session

All the candidates that will be on the Nov. 3 election ballot in the city of Belleville, plus two write-in candidates, were present for a Meet the Candidate session put on by the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 22 at the Holiday Inn Express in Van Buren Township.
When asked why Belleville candidates were featured at an event in VBT, chamber president Randy Brown explained that the Holiday Inn Express is a chamber member and let the chamber use the meeting room free.
Candidates attending were Jack Loria, running for reelection to council; Kerreen Conley, running for reelection as mayor; Phil Miller running for mayor; Carol Sundell, write-in candidate for mayor; Tom Smith, running for reelection to council; James Shrove, running for council; and Bob Balderston, write-in candidate for mayor. About 22 people attended the session, most from VBT.
