Belleville Arts Council announces schedule of cultural events for 2020

The Belleville Area Council for the Arts, committed to providing cultural opportunities to the residents of the tri-community, has put in place events for spring, summer and fall of 2020.
• Purple Rose Theater (Chelsea) – Attend together on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 3 p.m. “Roadsigns,” a new play and music by Jeff Daniels at $35 per ticket.
• Michigan Opera Theater (Detroit) – “Pagliacci” dress rehearsal at the Michigan Opera Theater at $35 per person, including a lecture about the opera in Belleville during the week prior to the opera. The excursion is Thursday, May 7, 2020, at 11 a.m.
• June 2020 – Belleville Area Council for the Arts bus trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts for the Van Gogh exhibit, with transportation by the DIA.
• Missoula Children’s Theater – Missoula Children’s Theater at McBride Middle School, the week of July 12 through July 18, 2020.
• Wild Swan Theater of Ann Arbor – Wild Swan Theater is a traveling children’s theater. Venue and dates to be announced for “Once Upon a Time” and “Tale of the Mischievous Bunny,” for ages 3-8.
“We have planned wonderful events,” said Barbara Miller of the arts council. “All residents are invited to attend. Locations of ticket sales will be announced.”
The Belleville Area Council for the Arts is open to all members of the community. For membership information, call (734) 357-8000. Art council meetings are open to the membership on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11575 Belleville Rd., Van Buren Township.
