An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Pied Piper” on Monday, May 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Auditions will take place at McBride Middle School, 47097 Mc Bride Ave., Van Buren Township.
All those auditioning should arrive by 4:30 p.m. at the McBride Middle School Cafeteria and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are the Pied Piper, Sara, the Mayor’s Kids, the Mayor’s Council, the Hamelin Administrative Team (HAT), Barbers, Cooks, Towns kids and the troublesome Rats.
Students from Belleville, Sumpter Township and Van Buren Township, grades Kindergarten through 12, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Detailed rehearsal schedules for cast members will be available after auditions.
“The Pied Piper” will be presented on Saturday, May 18 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at McBride Middle School. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children (5-17). Tickets may be purchased at the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce, Belleville Area District Library, Garden Fantasy on Main and the Law Office of Barbara Rogalle Miller. Tickets will also be sold at the door before both performances.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in the Belleville Area is brought by the Belleville Area Council for the Arts (BACA) with support from a Cozadd Rotary Foundation Grant.
