Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue will benefit from a special presentation of “The Christmas Story” by professional storyteller Linda Luke of Van Buren Township.
The “Christmas in July” benefit will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 29, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11575 Belleville Road, across from Burger King.
Luke will tell the traditional Christmas story punctuated with the characters’ thoughts and feelings from the time of Mary’s conception to the birth of Jesus.
Trinity soloists and pianist will add Christmas music to create an hour-long program. The event is free with the hope that listeners make a donation to FMAR, the local no-kill, non-profit rescue operation based in Sumpter Township.
Luke has presented this program several times at places in Florida and on Dec. 18, 2000, for the Belleville Rotary Club where it was well-received.
“This time with the added music, it should be extra special,” Luke said.
