The family of the late Craig Moody got permission to plant a tree in his memory in Banotai Park on July 14, with members of the Sumpter Township board personally stepping up to pay the fee for the $50 rental of the pavilion for the family to gather.
At Tuesday’s meeting of the Sumpter Board of Trustees, a request to waive the fee was cancelled, with the board members chipping in to cover the cost. Moody was former Sumpter Deputy Supervisor and chairman of Parks and Recreation Commission.
