The air temperature was 75 degrees, the water temperature 38 on Saturday when some members of the Belleville Lake Water Ski Club took to the lake outside Johnny’s Grill in Belleville.

This first water ski exhibition of the season was to benefit the Van Buren Public Schools Educational Foundation, and they reportedly raised some $11,000. The hundreds of party-goers formed a sea of green in their St. Patrick’s Day shirts and hats and necklaces inside and around Johnny’s under the bright, sunshiny sky.
