Lincoln Consolidated Schools report the adoption of a pay rate increase for substitute teachers to $90 per day, up from $75 per day.
Lincoln, along with many other districts across the state, has been suffering from a substitute shortage. The pay increase is expected to address the disadvantage Lincoln has faced while competing with neighboring districts offering a higher per-day rate.
Lincoln contracts substitute teachers from EduStaff as part of a consortium agreement through Washtenaw Intermediate School District.
“I am glad we were able to increase our pay rate for substitute teachers and bring it in line with other neighboring districts,” said Director of Human Resources Julia Butler. “This change will allow us to fill our daily positions and ensure consistent classroom coverage.”
