Sherry Frazier
Sherry Frazier, newly elected trustee in Van Buren Township, has declared her decision to also stay with her position as an elected member of the Van Buren Public Schools Board of Education.
On Tuesday night, Frazier said, “I plan to stick it out. I feel I have a responsibility to the people who elected me to the school board to carry forth my responsibility.
“The township meets on Tuesdays and the school board meets on Mondays. If I think it’s too much, I’ll try another approach,” Frazier said.
She said she was given varying opinions on whether she could hold the two positions and VBT Clerk Leon Wright called the state and found there is no conflict and she could hold both positions.
If there ever is a conflict between the two groups, she said she could abstain from a vote.
