Stanley and Dorothy Lightfoot of Romulus recently observed their 75th wedding anniversary, (May 3, 1945 to May 3, 2016). Relatives and friends from Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, California and Michigan joined the senior Lightfoots at a gala celebration and dinner arranged and served at the Bethany Bible Church in Belleville on May 14. Many happy memories, testimonies and expressions of appreciation and love were spoken.
Stanley and Dorothy Lightfoot were married during World War II. Stanley served in the U.S. Air Force, Cadet Flying Program, and as Radio Mechanic from January, 1943 to November, 1945. Following his Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force, he was employed with the Detroit Post Office for 18 years.
In 1971, Stanley Lightfoot entered the ministry. He pastored six churches: Berean Baptist Church in Stevens Point, WI; Trinity Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, MI; Fellowship Baptist Church in Marine City, MI; Calvary Baptist Church in Wabash, IN; Alabaster Bible Church in Tawas City, MI; and Faith Baptist Church in Standish, MI.
Stanley and Dorothy gave birth to five children: James, Donald, Stanley Jr.,
Ruth, and Lois. Today, their family tree has grown to 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Yes, I knew Stanley Lightfoot when he was a pastor at Trinity. His son Jim taught at Edgemont School in Belleville and became a family friend.
